Weather-Shelters (Stevenson Screen)

A weather shelter provides sufficient space for meteorological instruments and different types of sensors and protects them from damage and precipitation. The main purpose is to protect from direct sunlight and wind, which can have a negative effect on the measuring results.

Benefits:
- guaranteed good air circulation
- weather-, UV- and insect-resistant
- minimized maintenance effort
- proven and installed in hundreds of weather stations
- minimized transport costs for shelter, stand and stairs
- measurements acc. WMO norms
- made in Germany

Construction:

The shelters are available in different dimensions through a segment structure. A powder-coated aluminium frame with galvanized steel core joints ensures a stable construction. The combination of a ventilated double aluminium floor and roof, white and black overlapping polymer lamellas structure offers protection from sunlight, wind and precipitation. The outer UV-resistant white lamellas ensure the best possible reflection of solar radiation, and the inner black ones has been proven to provide the best measuring environment.
